We are looking for a skilled KS2 – Year 5 teacher to cover maternity full time in our thriving school. You may be a skilled teacher with a passion for creativity and engaging learning or more recently qualified and looking to develop your experience in a supportive school environment.
Either way, you will become part of our committed team of over 25 teaching professionals who truly want to, and do, make a difference. We are a large, three-form-entry primary school close to Norwich. Including our nursery, we have over 580 pupils and 80 staff who work collaboratively to support our pupils in achieving their full potential. We are part of the Evolution Academy Trust – a Primary-specific MAT spanning Norfolk and Suffolk – where staff CPD and wellbeing is central to positive outcomes for our children. We are ambitious, collaborative and have a sense of immense responsibility for our children and ourselves. We were rated good by Ofsted in 2023 and have excellent facilities.
The successful candidate will ensure that our Year 5 class continue to receive an excellent education for in a happy, safe and stimulating environment. We deliver a creative, engaging curriculum and teachers work collaboratively with their year group partner teachers.
We pride ourselves on our professional development offer. Teaching teams plan collaboratively, take part in regular CPD training and are offered the opportunity to be part of the Evolution Trust Leadership Development programme, where our Trust Director of Education supports teachers and future leaders to improve practice.

- Have experience of teaching in KS2 and demonstrate excellent classroom practice.
- Understand and value the importance of carefully planned task design across the curriculum.
- Have both the ambition and commitment to expect the best from our pupils.
- Have the skills to build strong, supportive relationships with children that are built on mutual understanding and respect.
- Have consistently high expectations of learning and behaviour.
- Be committed to engaging in the whole life of our school.
- Be hard working, flexible and a good communicator – especially with parents and carers.
- Be ambitious for pupils with SEND, and understand the barriers they may face.
- Be keen to be part of a team, prepared to constantly review your practice and always be striving for excellence.
